Recently, I had to deal with the test(s) of responding in a righteous way to to the fullest! I was faced with some harsh words and actions. And yes, I had my faults in the situation. However, I gained a new perspective on what God says about showing love. I had to see myself in the mirror of truth. My love walk was soooo ooooofffffff! The hardest part of showing/giving unconditional love is when someone you love hurts you. It’s easy to walk away and forgive those you rarely see.
It’s so easy to blame the offender on why there is a need to retaliate or not forgive. Truthfully, hurt should help you to gauge your commitment to walk in love. There is no excuse for ever demeaning anyone, regardless of how you are treated or feel. Jesus never fought with his enemies. He only replied back calmly or ignored their negativity. I can follow that model…lol! I’m trying my hardest. I have to read my word (Bible) and pray daily to aid me in keeping my love walk intact. If not, I will only display ugliness; and that’s not an option.
*4 Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:4-5).
*I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13 NKJV).
