A Quick Reminder

This morning I pulled a smile out of my back pocket. The thought of dealing with life’s challenges, momentarily grabbed my joy. A voice on the other end of my phone, reminded me that my feelings of frustration were a sign that I was not truly releasing my problems to God. I was pretty sure that I had done so. My lip service during my prayer time was on fleek, but lacked any sincerity. God is not moved by extra drama.
The Bible says, “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” (NIV Psalm 55:22) He can handle all the obstacles on his own. Jesus has the stripes to prove it. I must relinquish all cumbersome situations to God. Holding on makes me upset and diminishes my peace.
The simple reminder from my friend changed my attitude. I put the fake smile away and allowed the freedom of God’s joy to flow through me.
Let it all Go and FAITH IT!!!

Ooohhhh, I Want to Pop Off!!

I do not always want to respond in a respectable manner. Sometimes, the pettiness feels the need to be unleashed on the offenders. But of course, that’s not a wise decision, it carries too many consequences. A brief lapse in judgement can destroy your integrity or relationships. Please weigh your words carefully with others. I had to deal with the very same issue last week at work. It was not easy to hold my tongue, but I kept my mouth shut. The ramifications of what could have occurred superseded that present moment of frustration.

There are times when our words escape us without regard. Then our actions of remorse must exceed the utterance of “I am Sorry.” We have the power in our tongue to kill or bring life. Do your best to maintain the true essence of who you are. We can not expect our peers to think as we think. We’re all different.

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. (NLT, James 1:19)
