Thank you

I experienced a coworker lying on me recently. The situation kind of frazzled me because of the extent of how this person defended her lie. There was no need for the alternative facts. In the initial moment of discovering this plight against me, I really wanted to react in an ungodly manner. You know how you type out a nasty email in response then erase it because you know you can’t send it. Yep, that was me (Petty).  Once I quieted my flesh, the holy spirit quietly spoke to me, “Pray.” That is exactly what I did. Immediately my mood shifted to peace. A professional and direct email was sent to bring resolution to the matter. I forgave her and moved forward. No need to hold grudges.  I understand Jesus was lied on, crucified, and ROSE from the grave. The grave of lies, deceitfulness, and sin…he overcame! To God be the glory, that didn’t stop Him. He has all power! God always gets the glory out of everything. The truth will prevail. What some people do not realize is whatever they sow, they shall reap. It is in the word of God (Bible). Live a life of integrity in front of others and behind their backs. You gain so much respect. There are no worries on my end. No weapon formed will prosper. The enemy will plot and implement his plans, but that does not mean it shall come to fruition.  I thank God for the experience. It helped me to see how far my attitude and love walk has evolved. Stay focused in all things. Do not allow bumps in the road of life to tear you down. You have the greater living on the inside. Hallelujah!!

Fitting It Together

Am I the only one that feels that life is a huge jigsaw puzzle with a million and five pieces? And we work tirelessly trying to put it together. Since we’re on the subject of puzzles, here are a few interesting tips for putting one together. When setting up to assemble a puzzle, sort the pieces that have the same colors or features in a group. Another helpful thing to do is start the puzzle by fitting the corners together.  Then assemble the puzzle by sections. One of the most important steps is to use the finished picture as a point of reference or guide. After writing these suggestions, I was even more convinced that life is like a puzzle. Sounds crazy, right?!

Our lives are grouped in certain sections that need to fit together in order to become a whole masterpiece.  There’s God, family, work, friends, hobbies, health, and those extra things which make up our lives (just to name a few). Each part is a group.  Like any puzzle, there are pieces that fit but do not connect easily. So it is with life, we make hard decisions for the betterment of ourselves. Let’s take a look at my marriage and relationship with God.
There are times I want to argue with my spouse to prove my point. But, I must constantly remind myself that a soft word turns away wrath (Proverbs 15:1). On days when I succeed at bridling my tongue, I sometimes have a war within. In my mind, i’m screaming, “Why?!?, Why?!? I need to respond back! I must have my say! WWWhhhyyy, do I have to be quiet?” I may not understand at that moment because I want to act a fool, but my silence is building and not tearing down my marriage. Plus, a section of my puzzle is being constructed, self-control. How many heated fellowships could we avoid, if we controlled our tongues? Or what about when I succeed on a consistent basis, to force my body to awaken for prayer early in the morning, knowing that I would love to sleep another extra hour? I’m forming another area of my puzzle called faithfulness. It is mandatory that I meet with God. He’s been waiting on me all night. God has never ditched one of our dates!

There are so many areas of life we must keep building to complete the sections of our puzzle. Our point of reference is the Bible and prayer. There is no way, I would’ve made it this far in life without those two things. Keep placing the pieces of life in their proper position with direction from God. In the end, a spectacular work of art will be created – a better you.

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Galations 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!Be not weary in well doing…
