Webster defines success as favorable or desired outcome; also, the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence. Today, social media has also presented a level of success that some people try to emulate. A lot it is in the form of money, cars, houses, weave, makeup, flat tummies (you can buy a good girdle, if you are having a few problems with getting that washboard stomach) and so many other things that sums up as material possession. I fell victim to the hype of false gratification of wanting more, but for all the wrong reasons. The pursuit of stuff didn’t make me happy, but created a bigger void. Thankfully, God is sovereign. He gave me specific instructions to follow his divine path. I heeded a couple of months later. I was guilty of being stubborn. My way felt more “successful.” LOL!! Of course, it didn’t reap the benefits that I desired. So here I am writing a weekly blog post. My obedience to writing is part of my success. It brings me peace and joy to hear how God’s enlightenment from my life blesses others.
Our success is flowing in our purpose. Stop allowing the world to dictate yours. Purpose brings happiness and peace. Live your own life. If you are happy in the capacity of where you are now, keep going. Forget what the naysayers have to say. God places us in strategic places to reach certain people in a particular location or area at a specific time. We can not all be in the same place or position together. Create your own success story that is not a replica of societies rendition. Be successful! Be you!
I will instruct and teach you in the way you should go: I will counsel you with my eye upon you (ESV, Psalm 32:8).
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths (ESV, Proverbs 3:5-6).
