Reflect

Be a constant reflector of yourself. In college my instructors always made us write reflections on our assignments. I thought it was such a dumb idea and time consuming, not truly seeing the total benefit of this task… until now.
Reflecting has become instrumental at this point in my life. I make myself look back at situations that were successful and some not so great. I examine my claims to fame with glee. Reflecting back on those less than stellar moments, I force myself to acknowledge my wrongs. Yep, “wrongs.” Gosh, so I’m not perfect.
This activity helps me with self-accountability. It’s what I call growing pains. I find myself having to apologize and deal with my ugliness. It is not always the “other person” which causes you to lash out. Maybe there is some hidden anger and resentment in your heart. God wants us to be aware of our shortcomings and make the necessary changes. We are to be a light in a dark world. There is no possible way to be all God has created us to be without dealing with our own truth.
Reflect to become better spiritually and naturally. I promise you will experience growth.

Proverbs 29:19  NIV- As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.
